Playground

Thank you to all our volunteers who were part of the playground build! It was hard work but it looks amazing!

The original Riverbend School playground was assessed and removed in the summer of 2020. The parents and the Riverbend Elementary Parents Society/School Council coordinated the playground replacement through grant applications and fundraising activities. The cost of the replacement playground was $330,000.

The Playground Committee worked hard and consisted of the following phases:

1. Design - consultation with students, children, families and the community about the requirements for the new playground

2. Quotes - four quotes with builders to understand options

3. Decision - communication with children, families and the community to select the best option

4. Grant Applications and Fundraising was received

5. Build - we had several parents, community members and coroporate volunteers help build our playground!

6. Celebration - we have opened the playground, our opening celebration was limited but special and fun for everyone! We did it! Thanks to everyone who was involved!
